What Size TV Stand for 82-inch TV
A lot of things need to be put into consideration when you want to buy a stand for your TV.
You need to consider the purpose of buying the stand and also consider the size of the room where you want to install the stand. But more importantly, you need to consider the actual width of the TV.
The actual width is also called the true width, which means what the TV measures from one side to another.
In case you do not know, the sizes recorded against TVs on sale out today are measured diagonally.
So, the measurements do not indicate the true width of the TVs. A TV stand of 72 inches will do perfectly for an 82-inch TV set.
How to get it right
You will need to first measure the true width of the TV before you go ahead to purchase a TV stand. The true width is around 71.5 inches plus the bezel.
It can be lower than this if you do not include the bezel. However, every part of the length must be accommodated on the stand, including the bezel.
So, it must be included in the measurement.
Granted that the true width of the 82-inch TV is 71.5 inches, it means that a 72-inch TV stand will do just fine for mounting the TV.
However, you need to understand that some spaces need to be provided on either side of the TV after mounting it on the TV stand. So, you should consider a TV stand that is wider than 72 inches.
The extra addition can be determined by what you intend to use the extra space for.
If you will not be placing any item on the extra space, then you can make do with just an inch or two of extra space on either side of the TV, which means that you should consider buying a TV strand of about 76 inches wide for the 82-inch TV.
If you will be placing things like a flower vase or photo frame beside the TV, then you can add up to 8 more inches to the 72 inches when buying a TV stand; this means that you will need a TV stand of about 80 inches to conveniently accommodate your 82-inch TV, a flower vase and a photo frame.
Whatever the case may be, make sure that the TV is installed centrally so that the space on either side will not be different from each other.
Instead of placing the other items besides the TV, you can simply go for a TV stand that features drawers and place those things in them. If the TV stand comes with drawers, then you may not have to get a very big TV stand; you can simply opt for something around 74 inches and it will do just perfectly for mounting your 82-inch TV.
The size of the TV stand is very important, as well as, the quality. So, you should keep an eye out for the quality of that YTV stand before you buy. A quality TV stand can serve you for decades.
